Attack on doctors: BJP seeks arrest of Majlis MLAs

HYDERABAD: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday demanded immediate arrest of two Majlis legislators in connection with the recent attacks on medicos in Niloufer and Government Maternity Hospital, Nayapul and charged the authorities with not taking action on the pretext of issuing an ordinance to prevent such incidents.

At a press meet here, senior BJP leader Ch.Vidyasagar Rao said the present laws were sufficient to effectively deal with such situations and alleged that the government was not taking action due to ‘vote bank politics’. Besides, the MLAs, he said the woman, who assaulted a doctor at Nayapul hospital should be arrested. Criticising the statement of Majlis MP Asaddudin Owaisi that posting even the elite commando force, Greyhounds, would not ensure protection if there was medical negligence, he also demanded action against him.
