Marketing facilities for craftsmen sought

JAIPUR: Rajasthan Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Kalulal Gujjar has called for providing proper marketing facilities to craftspersons in the rural areas to help them get remunerative prices for their products as well as respect for their traditional skills.

Fair inaugurated

Inaugurating a “Gram Shri” fair, depicting a wide range of handicraft items, at Jawahar Kala Kendra here over the week-end,

Mr. Gujjar said though a significant demand for handmade products existed at present, marketing facilities were needed to popularise them and get new customers for them.

The “Gram Shri” fair, displaying handicraft, traditional jewellery and terracotta products, will continue till December 23.

Craftspersons from Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, West Bengal, Haryana, Delhi, Orissa and Bihar are participating in the event.
