Buchanan’s suggestion
Melbourne: Former Australian coach John Buchanan has come up with a wacky idea to revamp “boring” ODI cricket, suggesting that one-dayers be played in quarters of 25 overs each to make them as exciting as Twenty20 games.
“The current one-day format needs to be revamped. It’s just my personal view, but you would think it needs to become more closely aligned with Twenty20. It could be broken into quarters with bonus points on offer to make the first innings more meaningful,” Buchanan told Sun-Herald.
Buchanan also had a suggestion for making Twenty20 cricket more exciting. The Aussie felt involving all the 15 members of a side would add to the thrill. — PTI
