Easy for TN, Maharashtra

INDORE: It was smooth sailing for favourites Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra in the second round of the youth boys and girls competitions respectively of the National youth and junior table tennis championships at the Abhay Prashal indoor stadium here on Sunday. Tamil Nadu boys blanked Kerala 3-0 and Maharashtra ‘A’ girls returned an identical verdict against Himachal Pradesh.

The results: Boys: Youth: Second round: Group A: Tamil Nadu bt Kerala 3-0; Group B: Maharashtra ‘A’ bt Haryana 3-1; Group C: PSPBA bt Orissa 3-0; Group G: West Bengal bt J & K 3-0.

First round: Group D: RSPB bt Chhattisgarh 3-0; Group E: North Bengal bt Rajasthan 3-0; Group F: AP bt HP 3-0; Group H: Uttar Pradesh bt Jharkhand 3-0.

Girls: Youth: Second round: Group A: Maharashtra ‘A’ bt HP 3-0; Group B: Delhi bt Jharkhand 3-0; Group C: RSPB bt AP 3-0; Group D: Tamil Nadu bt MP 3-0. — Special Correspondent
