BANGALORE: BHEL (EPD) finished second best in the ‘A’ division football league at the football stadium here on Sunday. BHEL downed Thilak Memorial 3-1 to complete its league engagements with 29 points and are adrift of leader RWF, which with two matches in hand has already tallied 30 points. Both RWF and BHEL (EPD) earn promotion to the Super Division next season. Tony (25th and 60th) and Dakshinamurthy (71st) scored for BHEL while Bahadur netted the consolation goal for Thilak Memorial in the 44th minute. Later, MEG and BEML (EM) drew goalless in a well contested super division tie. With this draw, MEG finishes on 33 points at the end of its campaign while BEML have two more matches and are on 29 points. — Special Correspondent
