SRINAGAR: Kashmir will become a destination for international film makers as it was no longer a forbidden place , says Bollywood actor Rahul Bose, who is playing a lead role in Santosh Sivan’s ‘Dastaan’, a forthcoming movie. Bose, along with Anupam Kher, had been camping in Pahalgam for over one month shooting the film. “The film is going to the best film festivals around the world where it’ll we be seen by best filmmakers of both art house and commercial. They are going to discover Kashmir as one of the few locations that have remained undiscovered in past 15 years,” said Bose. All international locations had been extensively used so far and Kashmir was not lagging behind . “Kashmir is undoubtedly beautiful. I do not see any reason why international film makers should not make it their destination.” He, however, said that infrastructure needed to be upgraded. “It is cheap but we need to make it more attractive.” Kashmir-born Kher, who had returned after 21 years, was impressed with the changing environs. “I have travelled almost half the world and almost all the beautiful locations, but there is no place like Kashmir. Ours is a film which will change the perception of Kashmir at international level.” Officials were also optimistic to gain. The government had been making efforts to woo the Bollywood for but little impact had been noticed. “But I think it will supplement our efforts and help to revive tourism” said Farooq Ahmad Shah, Director, Tourism.
