Fernandes: No rapprochement with Nitish
Patna: Senior JD(U) leader and NDA convener George Fernandes on Sunday ruled out “any rapprochement” with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and party president Sharad Yadav with whom he had a bitter tiff over leading the party during elections last year.
“In no case will I try for a rapprochement with the two leaders (Sharad Yadav and Nitish Kumar),” Mr. Fernandes said here.
Accusing them of “being two faces of the same coin,” he said, “Both Yadav and Kumar have close coordination and understanding and they have belittled me.”
He, however, kept his cards close to his chest on his next course of action.
The Bihar Chief Minister had called on Mr. Fernandes on Saturday night here requesting him to attend an official function being organised by the State government for launching several development schemes worth over Rs. 800 crore in the latter’s Muzaffarpur constituency. — PTI
