Headmasters seek retention of norms for promotion to DEO post
Staff Reporter
TIRUCHI: The Tamil Nadu High and Higher Secondary School Headmasters’ Association has sought retention of norms for promotion to the post of District Educational Officer.
The association adopted as a resolution the demand for status quo on 2:1 ratio for high school headmasters and higher secondary school headmasters for promotion to the post at the end of its State-level general body meeting on Sunday.
By other resolutions, they called for maintaining the practice of earmarking the posts of Personal Assistant to Chief Educational Officer and Block Resource Supervisors for high school headmasters; implementation of the uniform syllabus from the forthcoming academic year and withdrawal of the contributory pension scheme.
Another resolution demanded the creation of separate directorates for high school education and higher secondary school education.
The association decided to hold its State-level conference during February 2008.
The general body meeting was chaired by the president of the association P. Nadanagurunathan.
