‘Triple riding’ proves fatal, youth killed

TAMBARAM: A 23-year-old youth was killed on the spot and two others were injured when a motorcycle which they were riding was hit by a speeding lorry near the railway level-crossing in Tambaram on Saturday night.
Balamurugan belonged to Pathuvanchery near Tambaram and was working as a service mechanic with a private company.
A little ahead of midnight, he was riding the motorcycle with his friends, Annadurai and Damodaran. The motorcycle just climbed a speed-breaker ahead of the level-crossing when a speeding lorry hit them.
As a result, the three persons fell on the road and Balamurugan came under the wheels of a heavy vehicle and died on the spot. The two others are under treatment.
