Four-week course in astronomy

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Science and Technology Centre will organise a course in general astronomy during December and January. The course, spanning four weeks, is open to the general public.
It will cover aspects in astronomy and astrophysics such as celestial coordinate systems, solar system, studies on the moon, birth and evolution of stars, galaxies, cosmology and telescopes in astronomy.
Classes will be held during the weekends, beginning December 22, between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the Birla Planetarium, Periyar Science and Technology Centre, Gandhimandapam Road, Chennai – 25.
A total of 50 participants will be admitted, on first come first serve basis. Call: 2441 0025 or 2491 5250.
