DMK, AIADMK Governments blamed for power shortage
Special Correspondent
CUDDALORE: Communist Party of India (Marxist) Central Committee member T.K. Rangarajan has held the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam government and the erstwhile All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam regime responsible for the power shortage in the State.
Addressing a public meeting organised as part of the 19th district conference of the party at Chidambaram on Saturday, he said that as per the statistics provided by the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, the State required 10,000 MW. The State used to generate 7,066 MW and buy 2,160 MW. Though the AIADMK and the DMK were ruling the State alternately, they had done little to augment generation.
