School boy’s father remanded

Gurgaon: Azad Singh Yadav, who was arrested for “negligence” in handling a revolver — which was used by his son and a friend for allegedly killing their classmate at a Gurgaon school — was sent to 14 days’ judicial custody by a court here on Sunday.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Satheesh Balan said they were looking for his friend Raj Singh Dalal, a wrestler and resident of Hisar.

Mr. Yadav reportedly told the police that the revolver belonged to Mr. Dalal. He said Mr. Dalal had given him the revolver in December 2006 and that he had been keeping it without informing the authority concerned. — PTI
