Manoj proves too good for Rahul

V.V. Subrahmanyam

HYDERABAD: M.C. Manoj of Tamil Nadu came up with a performance that would have delighted the purists.

With a brilliant display of crisp potting and cue ball positioning, he registered a 72-36, 66-33, 62-18 win over Rahul Berlia of West Bengal in a second round match of the seniors’ snooker event of the Seaways Group-sponsored National billiards and snooker championships at the Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy Indoor Stadium here on Sunday.

The few fans who gathered at the venue could not have asked for more as Manoj was at his impressive best. All that his opponent could do was nod his head in appreciation repeatedly.

Andhra Pradesh’s K. Someshwara Rao registered a fluent 68-1, 75-42, 64-31 victory over Varun Madan of Delhi.
