Honoured: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation’s Public Relations officer Anuj Dayal receiving the awards on behalf of the DMRC.

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation’s public relations team headed by Anuj Dayal, Chief of Public Relations, received three national level awards from the Public Relations Society of India at their National Convention in Chennai over the weekend.

The awards received by Mr. Dayal on behalf of DMRC were given to the Delhi Metro for the best corporate website (first prize), the second best corporate film and the third best corporate brochure at the all-India level.

The need for professional public relations in an infrastructural organisation like the DMRC was recognised by its Managing Director E. Sreedharan, keeping in view the fact that massive public interface would be required to implement and operate the Delhi Metro.

The DMRC corporate film that won the second prize is 20 minutes in length and covers the growth of Delhi Metro, its present status and future plans.

The 60-page corporate brochure, tilted “Towards New Horizons” that was awarded the third prize in its category, is a comprehensive booklet that gives an in-depth account about the Delhi Metro and its operations. It includes categories such as social responsibility, distinguished visitors, operations, system parameters, consultancy and Metros in other Indian cities.

Later, Mr. Dayal presented a paper regarding the importance and need for infrastructure communications and need for professional public interface by companies keeping in view the current economic boom in the country which has led to massive increase in construction activities in metropolitan cities.
