Srinagar: Hundreds of residents from Chrar-e-Sharief region of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday came out on the streets, demanding setting up of a degree college in Budgam town. The State Cabinet had on December 14 given the go-ahead for 18 new degrees colleges, including two for women. Budgam did not find a place where new colleges will come up. The protesters raised slogans against the government claiming the long pending demand of residents of Chrar-e-Sharief for a degree college was ignored due to party politics.
