Contests to be held for school students

SRIVILLIPUTTUR: The Andal Temple authorities have organised a series of competitions for school students of the district in connection with the ‘Marghazhi’ festival on January 3 and 4, 2008.

In a statement, the temple Executive Officer, K. Rajamanickam, said that the heads of schools should send the list and details of students wishing to participate in the competitions by December 30 to his office.

The temple has made arrangements to serve lunch for the participating students and accompanying teachers, parents on competition days.

On January 3, recitation, vocal and quiz competitions on Tiruppavai would be conducted for students of Class 1 to Class 5 and for students of Class 6 to Class 8.

In the forenoon of January 4, drawing, rangoli and painting competitions for students of Class 6 to Class 8 would be conducted.

Similarly, recitation, vocal, quiz, elocution and essay writing competitions on Tiruppavai, and recitation competition on Nachiyar Tirumozhi, would be held separately for high school and higher secondary school students.

In the afternoon on the same day, drawing, painting and rangoli competitions for high school and higher secondary school students would be conducted.

Fancy dress competition for students of Class 1 to Class 5 would be conducted on January 10.
