Against the ‘lackadaisical attitude’ of the government

Protest path: Hindu Aikya Vedi State organising secretary M. Radhakrishnan inaugurating the day-long fast and prayer at the Valiya Nadappandal at Sabarimala on Monday.

PATHANAMTHITTA: The Hindu Aikya Vedi (HAV) workers staged a day-long fast and prayer at the Valiya Nadappanthal at Sabarimala on Monday, protesting against the alleged lackadaisical attitude of the government and the Travancore Devaswom Board towards Sabarimala affairs.

Inaugurating the fast, Vedi State organising secretary M. Radhakrishnan called for the resignation of Travancore Devaswom Board president C.K. Gupthan and members P. Narayanan and P.K. Sumathykutty Amma, owing moral responsibility for not providing adequate facilities to the pilgrims at Sabarimala.

Mr Radhakrishnan alleged that there was every reason to suspect a big scam behind TDB’s aravana deal, leading to serious crisis in the supply of prasadom to pilgrims at Sabarimala.

He demanded an impartial inquiry by a Central agency into the aravana issue.

Mr. Radhkrishanan also said that the authorities should take adequate steps to ensure smooth distribution of aravana at Sabarimala.

All-Kerala Hindu Sambava Maha Sabha State general secretary, K.K. Thankappan also addressed the meeting.

The concluding meet held later in the afternoon was inaugurated by Vedi State general secretary E.S. Biju.
