ALAPPUZHA: Nine Malaysian nationals, who were holidaying in the backwaters here, were admitted to a private hospital on Monday after complaining of food poisoning. The tourists – Jenny, Adrian, Annie, Sivakami, Gunaseelan, Mafin, Resmi, Uma and Anand – had reportedly consumed a huge quantity of prawns while on a houseboat cruise on Sunday. They began vomiting and complained of loose bowels in the night following which the houseboat owners admitted them to hospital. The team, after being discharged by noon, left for Bangalore, via Kochi.
