Raid on illegal mining

Chitradurga: In a night-long raid conducted by the district administration, in association with the officials of the Revenue Department, 32 lorries carrying illegal ore were seized.

The raid was conducted in three taluks — Chitradurga, Hosadurga and Holalkere on Sunday.

The district administration has intensified raids in the district following strict instructions from the Lokayukta to curb illegal mining in Tumkur and Chitradurga districts, said Deputy Commissioner Amlan Aditya Biswas.
