DUBAI: Five Indian pilgrims who were killed in a bus accident on the Medina-Makkah highway in Saudi Arabia on Saturday have been buried. Some of the dead were buried on Sunday while the remaining were laid to rest on Monday. Ausuf Sayeed, Indian Consul General based in Jeddah, told The Hindu over telephone from Mina that all the Indian pilgrims had now arrived in Mina to conclude the remaining part of the Haj pilgrimage. More that 1,10,000 Indians are performing Haj this year. Of the 19 persons who were injured in the accident, 13 are being treated at the Al-Rabigh hospital, 200 km from Makkah. Six have been discharged. All passengers hail from Thrissur district in Kerala. An Indian medical contingent is at the Al-Rabigh hospital to ensure that the injured receive appropriate treatment. A team of 135 doctors and 140 paramedics is accompanying the Indian pilgrims in Saudi Arabia. The bus was carrying 46 passengers when it overturned. The injured have been identified as Ali Hyderas Arakkal, Thozukattil Ummar, Mohammed Rian Masakar, Umar Mohammed Sheikh, Mariam Ahmad, Haliman Hasan, Amna Kutty, Nasira Umar, Suhara Abdu, Kunhaleema Abubakar, Kaya Pavrutty, Jamila Mohammed and Nadia Mohammed Salim.
