Apollo International in final

NEW DELHI: Apollo International School, Sonepat, defeated Bal Bharati Public School, Pitampura, 6-1 to enter the final of the junior boys section in the 25th S.S. Mota Singh memorial hockey tournament at the school ground at Block-A, Janakpuri, here.

In another match in the same section, S.S. Mota Singh Model School, Paschim Vihar, beat the host S.S. Mota Singh Senior Secondary Model School, Janakpuri, 3-1.

Hindustan posts win

Hindustan Club recorded a 3-0 triumph over former champion Mughal Sports Club to ensure its qualification for the super-league from group ‘B’ in the SAIL-ONGC DSA senior division football league at the Ambedkar Stadium, New Delhi on Monday.

Hindustan took the lead in the second minute as Anil Bara headed home a corner kick taken by Gopal Thapa.

Nathan made it 2-0 in the 23rd minute while Gopal Thapa himself completed the tally in the 56th minute. While Hindustan has taken its tally to nine points from four matches, Mughals has not managed to win a point in five matches.

In group ‘A’, former champion Simla Youngs scored a 2-0 triumph over Bangadarshan, to take its tally to four points from five matches.

Monu Chaudhary and Jonathan Kingsley scored the goals.

Bangadarshan has one point from five matches.

DLF course voted the best

DLF Golf and Country Club, Gurgaon, has been adjudged the best golf course in the sub-continent in the eighth Asian Golf Monthly awards. The awards were presented in Singapore recently.

Voting was determined by readers and subscribers of Asian Golf Monthly. Voting was purely on-line.

The DLF Golf and Country Club is an integral part of DLF City on the southern border of New Delhi.
