Windies wins truncated match

Port Elizabeth: West Indies ran through South Africa’s line-up to post an easy five-wicket win in a one-off Twenty20 cricket international.

Jerome Taylor took three wickets without conceding a run, helping to reduce South Africa to 12 for six in the sixth over before it recovered to 58 for eight.

West Indies took 9.5 overs to make it 60 for five in a match reduced to 13 overs a side because of intermittent rain.

Proteas paceman Dale Steyn’s four for nine off three overs were the second-best bowling figures in Twenty20 internationals, behind New Zealander Mark Gillespie’s four for seven against Kenya in the World Twenty20 last September.
