Lifer for killing school mate
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: An 18-year-old was awarded life imprisonment by a court here on Monday for killing a schoolmate two years ago. Additional Sessions Judge Narender Kumar convicted Anil, who was then a student of Class VIII at Sarovdaya Bal Vidyalaya in Madipur, West Delhi, for killing Ujala, a Class IX student, on July 27, 2005.
‘Killed for bullying’
Anil was caught on the spot and handed over to the police. The court observed that the parents sent their children to study and not to see them indulging in crime. During the trial, 20 witnesses, including a carpenter whose sharp-edged equipment was used in the offence, deposed before the court. The prosecution had said Anil killed Ujala because he was upset over his bullying ways in the school.
