Five held for beating up students
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: Students of Delhi University’s Kirori Mal College, including the college union president, were allegedly beaten up by outsiders inside the college premises on Sunday night apparently over sponsorship of the annual festival.
Five persons, including one former KMC student, who allegedly attacked Sonu Singh, the president of the college union, and others, were arrested in the early hours of Monday. They were later released on bail, the police said.
Calling it a “pre-planned attack”, Sonu said: “I got a call from someone claiming to be a Yamaha representative. He asked me to meet him in Kamla Nagar, but I could not go there due to some reason.”
