Welcome: Governor Rameshwar Thakur greeting Gerard Huet during the inauguration of fourth international conference on ‘Distributed computing and Internet technology,’ in Bangalore on Monday. Achyuta Samanta, Chancellor, KIIT University, is seen. Bangalore: A four-day international conference on “Distributed computing and Internet technology” to discuss research activities on themes such as network protocols, management and services was inaugurated by the Governor Rameshwar Thakur here on Monday. Over 100 experts and delegates from over 20 countries are attending the fourth conference on the recent advances and priority areas in the field. It is organised by the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), a deemed university from Orissa, the Centre for Electronic Governance of the United Nations, IBM and other organisations. Mr. Thakur said that the conference on distributed computing and Internet as enabling technologies for establishment of e-societies dealt with a highly technical subject. It testified the level of excellence, the KIIT had achieved in the field over a short period, he added. A. Samanta, Chancellor of the KIIT, P.K. Patasani, MP, and Rajesh Ram Mishra, Vice President, Wipro Technologies spoke.
