Train youth in accessing opportunities: Minister

Three-day training programme on civic education for youth inaugurated at Sriperumbudur

ADDRESSING ISSUES: Pallam Raju M.M., Minister of State for Defence, speaking at the inauguration of a training programme for youth at Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development in Sriperumbudur on Monday.

KANCHEEPURAM: Union Minister of State for Defence Pallam Raju M. M. stressed the need to train youngsters in accessing opportunities that could help to bring prosperity in their lives.

Delivering the keynote address at the inauguration of three-day training programme on civic education for youth at Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development in Sriperumbudur near here on Monday, the Minister claimed that time had now come for organising programmes aimed to help youngsters, especially those living in rural areas, to tap the opportunities and come up in life, apart from conducting training classes in capacity-building.

Mr.Raju appreciated the project taken up by the RGNIYD to educate youth on fundamentals and also the role they had to play in civic administration.

The Director, RGNIYD, G.Rajasekaran, and the vice-president, C. R. Kesavan were among those who participated in the inaugural session. Earlier, Mr. Raju paid floral tributes at the Rajiv Gandhi Memorial at Sriperumbudur.
