Teenager drowned in Public Garden

HYDERABAD: Amir, 19, drowned in the pond in Public Garden at Nampally when he entered it to wash his lunch box on Monday afternoon. Amir, along with his friends Samir Thakur and Shaik Hussain, had his lunch in the Public Garden around 2.30 p.m. and stepped into the pond to clean the box.

As the box slipped from his hands, he entered the deep waters but got drowned as he did not know how to swim. His friends waiting at the lawns too did not know swimming. The Saifabad police retrieved the body in the evening. A case of suspicious death was registered.
