Rs.3.14 lakh aid given to 71 beneficiaries

161 petitions received by Collector

PUDUKOTTAI: Collector D. Uthirakkumaran distributed assistance to the tune of Rs. 3.14 lakh to 71 beneficiaries from weaker sections during a mass contact programme held at Seerangapatti village in Thennangudi village panchayat on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Uthirakkumaran said 161 petitions containing various grievances were received from the residents of Seerangapatti village and the surrounding areas.
These petitions were sent to the various departments and steps were taken to solve the grievances.
Appropriate action will be taken to solve the grievances of the people who presented petitions today, he added.
The Collector distributed Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar memorial marriage assistance scheme to 15 beneficiaries, widows pension to three, Indira Gandhi National Old Age pension to two persons, house site pattas to 15 and patta transfer orders to 37 persons.
