HYDERABAD: A Division Bench of the High Court comprising Acting Chief Justice Bilal Nazki and Justice Ramesh Ranganathan on Tuesday recorded the submission made by the State government to the effect that strict measures like invoking of Essential Services and Maintenance Act (ESMA) and directing NTR University of Health Sciences to take action would be initiated against the striking junior doctors. The writ petition filed pertained to maintaining of health services in government hospitals, which were effected due to strike by the junior doctors was being adjudicated by the Bench. The court directed that a committee under the supervision of the Registrar General of the High Court would assess the effectiveness of the alternative arrangements made in the major hospitals in the city. The Superintendents of Osmania, Gandhi General hospitals, Niloufer and Government Maternity Hospital near Nayapul, would assist the committee, which would submit a report by Wednesday evening. The case was adjourned to Thursday when the report would be examined by the Bench.
