Finishing touches being given to Hamsavahanam Special security arrangements made for festival
In all splendour: Bhadrachalam temple decked up for Uttara Dwara darshanam. – BHADRACHALAM: The temple town of Bhadrachalam is in full illumination. The month-long arrangements gave it a festive look. The temple authorities, the administration and the police have been busy making fool proof arrangements as a host of dignitaries, including Central and State ministers were expected to join the devotees in the worship of the deities on the all auspicious occasion of Vaikunta Ekadasi. The processional deities would be taken on a sacred voyage in Godavari river thus giving a grand finale to the 10-day festival on Wednesday evening. The Hamsavahanam that spearheads the flotilla on the occasion was given the finishing touches till this morning. A group of specialist craftsmen decorated the Hamshavahanam with a distinct touch of grandeur and majesty. A special ramp was prepared for taking the Lord in a religious possession to the river bed where he be seated with His Consort on the Hamsha Vahanam before being taken on a ride in the holy waters amid chanting of Vedic hymns. Special security arrangements were made this time as part of the festival bandobust at all the sacred enclosures in view of the VIP rush.
