Road blockade

Coimbatore: Tension prevailed on Nanjundapuram road on Tuesday morning when irate residents attempted to stage a road blockade in protest against the decision of the official machinery to evict them from the encroached structures immediately for enabling the commencement of the four-lane road widening work. The residents sought time to vacate their houses till the academic year considering their children. They flayed the authorities for carrying out the anti-encroachment drive without giving time. The police and revenue authorities held talks with the agitated residents.
