House burgled

CHENNAI: Burglars decamped with 20 sovereigns of gold jewellery from a locked house in Virugambakkam.
Police said on Tuesday that K. S. Nair, a businessman, residing in the apartment in Virugambakkam, had been to Coimbatore with his family members.
On his return home, he found the front window broken open and found the valuables missing.
Fire in Tiruvottiyur
A fire broke out in a public sector bank branch in Tiruvottiyur on Monday night. Fire and rescue service personnel rushed to the spot and put out the fire in about 30 minutes. A few furniture and some computers were damaged in the fire. There was no casualty. The loss was being assessed and the cause not known , police said.
