Kovaipudur attached to city police limits

Staff Reporter

Coimbatore: City Police Commissioner C.K. Gandhirajan has announced that Kovaipudur village hitherto with the Perur Police station in Perur sub-division of the Coimbatore Rural District Police has been incorporated into the Coimbatore City Police limits by attaching it to the Kuniamuthur police station.

The Government had issued an order that the realignment of the jurisdiction comes into force from December 17 onwards. Public of Kovaipudur area could henceforth approach the Kuniamuthur Police Station (on Palakkad Road) of Coimbatore City Police for all their grievances. It may be recalled that the suburban pockets known for being communally volatile such as Podanur, Chettipalayam and Kuniamuthur were recently attached to Coimbatore for enhancing the levels of policing on a par with the city police jurisdiction.
