Three players share lead

NEW DELHI: Top seed Vidit Gujarati, second seed Prasanna Rao and 19th seed M. G. Gahan posted sixth-round victories to share the lead with 5.5 points in the Parsvnath National boys (under-13) chess championship at the Bapu Samaj Sewa Kendra here on Tuesday.

The results: (sixth round):

Abhilash Reddy (4.5) lost to Vidit Gujarati (5.5); Prasanna Rao (5.5) bt D. Yashas (4.5); P. Lokesh (5) drew with Ankit Rajpara (5); M. G. Gahan (5.5) bt Pranav Shetty (4.5 ); Vishwanath Prasad (5) drew with Girish Koushik (5); Shaik Abdul Azeez (4.5) drew with N. Srinath (4.5).

Tejas Ravi Chandran (4.5) drew with Fenil Shah (4.5); Anurag Mhamal (5) bt Praveen Kumar (4); Chandrasish Majumdar (4) lost to Harihara Sudan (5); Deepthamsh Reddy (5) bt Manush Shah (4); (fifth round): Vidit drew with Vishwanath Prasad.

Gahan drew with Prasanna; Rajpara bt Tejas Ravi Chandran; Fenil drew with Deepthamsh Reddy; Pranav bt Pratik Patil; Sayantan drew with Mhamal; Koushik bt Vaibhav Suri; Abhilash bt S. S. Manigandan; Yashas bt Adith Jagadish; Sai Manivannan lost to Lokesh.
