RWAs demand more time for filing objections

Staff Reporter

DERC has fixed December 20 as the last date for the same

“Petitions filed by discoms are not easy to understand”

“RWAs depend on the time the experts can spare”

NEW DELHI: Residents’ welfare associations under the aegis of the United RWAs Joint Action have written to the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission seeking more time for consumers to file objections to the aggregate revenue requirements filed by the discoms, and the notices issued by the DERC on the multi-year tariff and time-of-day metering proposals.

The DERC has fixed December 20 as the last date for filing objections.

Sanjay Kaul, President of Poeple’s Action, said: “We have received a number of representations from RWAs and independent groups claiming that the petitions filed by the discoms are impossible to understand and as such they require the assistance of experts.” Atul Goyal of URJA said: “It takes time to seek the help of experts because RWAs have to depend on the time these experts can spare. Besides what has taken the discoms three months to file with the resources at their command cannot be unravelled by ordinary residents in three weeks.”
