Cut in HRA if principals are not found at workplaces One toilet for 10 students stipulated as per court order NIZAMABAD: District Collector B. Ramanjaneyulu has asked the principals of 13 Social Welfare residential schools in the district to ensure 100 per cent result in the SSC public examinations. Giving a serious warning, probably keeping in view a recent incident of alleged harassment of a girl student by a principal in the district, he asked them not to “play games” with the students. He directed the principals to be present at the residential schools and colleges till ten in the night. Reviewing the conditions at the residential schools and colleges with the principals in his chamber, he warned them of a cut in HRA if they did not reside at their workplaces. He opined that if males were posted as principals, women should be appointed for the post of vice-principals. Asking the principals to furnish their telephone/mobile numbers, the Collector said he would be talking to them during the nights. He asked them to take steps to fill staff nurse and electrician posts in the schools and colleges whenever they fell vacant. Referring to the recent High Court judgment, he said as per the directive, one toilet for ten students was mandatory. However, given the conditions and resources, proposals should be prepared to construct one for 25 students, he said.
