HASSAN: The Hassan Milk Union has received the National Energy Conservation Award 2007, the second in line in the dairy sector. According to a press release by Managing Director of the union V. Lakshmana Reddy, it received the award for the fourth consecutive year. Mr. Reddy received the award on behalf of Hassan Milk Union from President Pratibha Patil on December 14 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. The Hassan Milk Union implemented three energy saving projects during 2006-07 and saved Rs. 14.78 lakh. He said that between 2002 and 2007, the union had implemented 22 energy saving programmes and saved Rs. 48.70 lakh.
