DYFI apprehensive of communal violence

HASSAN: President of the Hassan district unit of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) B.G. Girish and secretary Shavel Hameed have expressed apprehension over the permission accorded to the Sangh Parivar for Datta Jayanti and Shoba Yatra at Bababudangiri in Chikmagalur district. They said the Sangh Parivar was known for violating court orders and now may not even follow the conditions imposed.

They feared that it may instigate communal violence in the area. The court had directed the Parivar to follow practices that had prevailed before 1975. They appealed to the Government not to allow the Datta Jayanti and Shoba Yatra to be performed.
