LUCKNOW: A dreaded criminal, who carried a reward of Rs. 55000 on his head, was on Wednesday gunned down in an encounter in Jalaun district in Uttar Pradesh. “Anoop Gurjar was shot dead by Special Task Force (STF) in a gun battle near Kuthaunda in Jalaun while four of his accomplices managed to escape,” Special Secretary(Home) Gyan Singh said here. Gurjar was wanted in several cases of murder and kidnapping, he added.
