BELLARY: The Communist Party of India Marxist (CPI-M) has urged Governor Rameshwar Thakur not to permit any new custom at Bababudangiri that were against the accepted traditions and court order. S.Y. Gurushant, member of the CPI (M) State secretariat, while talking to presspersons here on Wednesday, accused the BJP of making all efforts to gain power and also attempting to foment communal violence. Mr. Gurushant said the eighth district-level conference of the party had adopted several resolutions, including seeking a new mining policy at the national level, checking environmental pollution, taking up repairs of National Highway 63, issues pertaining to agriculture and farmers and implementing the NREG scheme.
