Another milestone for Keltron
Special Correspondent
Thiruvananthapuram: Keltron has bagged a prestigious order from Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd. for nine seismically qualified 200 KVA UPS’s and batteries worth Rs.7.57 crore against stiff competition from suppliers in the private sector.
These UPS’s are required for India’s first fast-breeder based commercial reactor (500 MW capacity) coming up at Kalpakkom. The project, named ‘Bhavini,’ is a Thorium-Plutonium based reactor and will be unique in many ways. Keltron’s Power Electronics Group at Karakulam will be executing this order and with this Keltron’s presence will be ensured in the New Generation Nuclear Power Plants.
