More than four lakh rose stems would be exported for this Christmas. The demand in the local market has also started on a good note with prices ranging from Rs.9 a stem for Red roses and Rs.6 for other colours.

According to sources in the Tanflora floriculture park, “the production cycle would be programmed for Valentine’s Day from this week. Orders are already pouring in from Europe, Australia and Japan. More than 2 million Rose stems are expected to be sold out during Valentine’s Day.
Tanflora has already entered into marketing agreements with Germany, Dutch and Australian buyers in terms of higher productivity and demand.
It has also tied up with Japanese Flora Auction Centre for regular supply and bouquet making. Tanflora would be a major exporter of cut roses from the Indian sub-continent for 2008 Valentine’s Day.
