BANGALORE: Six residents of Bangalore, all of whom are accused by the Bangalore city police of allegedly being involved in the attack on a Tamil Nadu bus in the city in which two persons were killed, moved the Karnataka High Court on Wednesday for bail. While Harish alias A. Harish alias Harish Babu, one of the accused, filed a petition for bail, five others, including Seena, B. Manjunatha, B.M. Manjunath, S. Sageya Raju and M. Pappanna petitioned the High Court after a lower court rejected their bail plea. In his petition, Harish claimed that he was implicated by the Madivala police in the case of a burning of a Tamil Nadu-based bus on Hosur Main Road in Bommanahalli in which two passengers were killed. He said the police had arrested him under Sections 143, 144, 145, 147, 148, 149, 304, 341 and 302 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 3 and 4 of Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act. He said he had filed a bail plea before a lower court in Bangalore which was rejected on December 6. He urged the court to release him on bail. Justice Subash B. Adi adjourned further hearing on the case. In the other petition, the five accused too asked the court for bail. The Government advocate submitted to the court that some of these accused had spoken on the mobile phone with the main accused before the attack on the bus. He sought time from the court. Justice Subash B. Adi adjourned further hearing on the case.
