Haryana may have more municipalities

CHANDIGARH: The Local Bodies Department of Haryana is proposing to set up Municipal Corporations at some other important towns of the State in addition to the lone such civic body at Faridabad.

Local Bodies Minister A. C. Chaudhary answering newsmen’s questions at a press conference here on Wednesday said that the department was in the process of identifying the towns after which a proposal would be sent to the Chief Minister for its placement before the State Cabinet for approval.

The towns likely to get Municipal Corporations include Gurgaon, Hissar, Yamunanagar, Rohtak and the twin towns of Ambala City and Ambala Cantt. PTI
