Patna: The Patna High Court has set aside the appointment of over 2200 assistant engineers (civil) in the water resources and road construction departments on the charge of faulty evaluation of answer sheets and directed the Bihar Government to hold examinations afresh. Justice V. N. Sinha on Tuesday ordered cancellation of appointments of 2268 engineers on the basis of the report of a two-member expert committee of a retired and a serving faculty member of the National Institute of Technology, Patna. He also directed the State Government to hold an inquiry into the entire examination process, take action against the errant officials and report to it within six months. A two-member expert committee had found that model answers of 41 of the 100 objective type questions were wrong. PTI
