Child rights panel seeks report from Gujarat govt.
Aarti Dhar
NEW DELHI: The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights has sought a report from the Gujarat government within 21 days over the death of two children employed in plastic factories. The Commission had received a complaint regarding the death of two children: Dinesh Dhirubhai (10) on November 29 and another 16-year-old boy on November 30.
The report should specify whether the matter was reported to the local police and post-mortem conducted in both the cases, whether the workplace, where the accident took place, is a factory within the definition of Factories Act, 1948 and also whether it falls within the purview of State Shops and Establishments Act.
