Management school proposed at IIT-Kanpur

Kanpur: IIT Kanpur will soon have a world class business management school with financial assistance from an alumni couple.

Raj Singh and his wife Neera Singh have decided to give Rs. 9 crore for setting up the business school. “We want that IIT-K should have a world class school of business management so that students passing from this institute can compete with others,” Mr. Singh told PTI here.

He graduated in electrical engineering from IIT Kanpur in 1975 while his wife graduated in chemical engineering in 1981 from the same institute. Both are presently working in the telecom business in the U.S.

“We didn’t have a separate school for business studies. We are delighted by this offer,” Dean of IIT-K Resource Management Division Sudhir Jain said.

A proposal for the same will be presented before the board of directors and will be implemented as soon as it gets the nod , he added. — PTI
