dated December 20, 1957: Siddha medicine

A deputation on behalf of the All India Siddha Vaidya Sangam headed by Mr. T. Purushotham, M.L.C., met Mr A. Manickavelu, Minister of Health, on Decenber 14 at the Secretariat in Madras and presented a memorandum urging the government to constitute a Central Board of Siddha Vaidya as recommended by the Dave commission. Mr. Gulam Mahomed, Secretary, Health, Education and Local Administration epartment was present. The deputation urged that the government should utilise the grant made by the Central Government for the writing of an authoritative history of the science of Siddha Medicine and start a Siddha research centre in the state.
