Azharia FC wins

MANGALORE: Azharia FC scored a thumping 3-1 win over Bolar Brothers FC to emerge A division football league champion in the tournament conducted by Dakshina Kannada District Football Association here on Wednesday.

Azharia was tied on 16 points with Bolar Brothers going into their final league match. Maqdoom scored twice (including a penalty), while Sajjad scored the other goal for Azharia. Chelston was Bolar’s scorer.

On Friday, JEM will take on Jenifa in a relegation match, with the loser playing in the B division next year. — Staff Correspondent
