Two wins for Khaja

Madurai: Khaja of Billiards Kingdom, who beat M.J. Rajesh Babu of Madurai Union Club 66-25, 68-32, 61-22 on Tuesday night for his first win, beat Vijayan of Madurai Union Club 61-38, 61-9, 67-19 for his second win in the semifinal round robin league of the 125th year district-level snooker-ranking tournament at Madurai on Wednesday.

Khaja finished his fixtures with two wins whereas Guthoosh of Pot Black Centre with two wins and Rajesh Babu of Madurai Union Club with one win, have to play the last match of the league.

St. Xavier’s wins

Host St. Xavier’s College, Palayamkottai, won the team title in the Manonmaniam Sundaranar University inter-collegiate table tennis tournament defeating Muslim Arts College, Thiruvithancode 3-1 in the final at Palayamkottai on Wednesday.

The results: Final: St. Xavier’s College bt Muslim Arts College, Thiruvithancode 3-1 (Dimel Roy bt Arun 11-2, 11-7, 13-11, 11-8; Arumuga Kani lost to Satheesh 6-11, 7-11, 7-11, 11-13; Tamil Vanan bt Vinu Kumar 11-5, 13-11, 11-9, 11-9; Arumuga Kani bt Arun 12-10, 11-8, 8-11, 11-5, 11-8). Third place: N.M Christian College, Marthandam, bt K.R.
